A Simple Reflective Practice for Life transitions

Simple practice for life transitions: practical questions, art-based reflection, and Enzology meditation and hypnosis session options.

A new role, move, or change in routine can unsettle the story you tell about yourself. Reflective work offers space to distinguish what has changed from the values and strengths you still want to carry forward.

Try a short, manageable experiment

Choose a quiet moment and a comfortable setting. This is an optional reflection exercise, not a test or a substitute for individualized care. Keep it brief enough to repeat, and stop if the experience feels uncomfortable. There is no requirement to produce a particular feeling.

Make two short lists: what is changing and what you want to keep. Choose one familiar routine that can support the next week.

Before and after the exercise

Before beginning, notice where you are and whether you have enough privacy. Set a small intention and give yourself permission to finish early. Afterwards, return to the room and write one sentence about what you observed, without deciding that the practice must have changed something.

Review a decision using your current values instead of comparing your life with an earlier chapter.

If attention wanders

Wandering attention is something to notice. You can return to the exercise, shorten it, or leave it for another day. Avoid turning a brief experiment into another obligation. A guided session can help you discuss what made the practice comfortable or difficult.
