Getting Started with Self-compassion

Getting started for self-compassion: practical questions, art-based reflection, and Enzology meditation and hypnosis session options.

Self-compassion is a way of responding to difficulty without adding unnecessary self-criticism. Reflection can help you hear the difference between useful accountability and a broad judgment about your worth.

Begin with a specific intention

A useful starting point is a small, observable goal. You do not have to arrive with a complete explanation of your experience. Start with what you notice now, what you want to explore, and the kind of guidance that feels comfortable.

What words do you tend to use with yourself when something does not go as planned?

Turn a broad wish into a useful question

Instead of asking yourself to feel completely different, choose one situation you can describe. Think about where it happens, what you tend to do, and what you would like to try. That level of detail gives a practitioner something concrete to discuss with you.

Describe a recent small mistake using only facts. Then write a practical next step in language you would use with someone you respect.

Choose a setting that fits

Private guidance lets you focus on your individual question. A group offers a shared structure while leaving your personal reflections your own. Neither format requires you to have experience with art, meditation, or hypnosis.

Explore this with Enzology
