A Simple Reflective Practice for Habit awareness and change

Simple practice for habit awareness and change: practical questions, art-based reflection, and Enzology meditation and hypnosis session options.

Many everyday habits happen in a familiar sequence: a cue, an automatic action, and an immediate reward. Hypnosis and coaching can be used to explore that sequence and mentally rehearse an alternative that fits your own goals.

Try a short, manageable experiment

Choose a quiet moment and a comfortable setting. This is an optional reflection exercise, not a test or a substitute for individualized care. Keep it brief enough to repeat, and stop if the experience feels uncomfortable. There is no requirement to produce a particular feeling.

Choose one low-stakes habit. Write down what happens immediately before it and one small alternative you could test at that same moment.

Before and after the exercise

Before beginning, notice where you are and whether you have enough privacy. Set a small intention and give yourself permission to finish early. Afterwards, return to the room and write one sentence about what you observed, without deciding that the practice must have changed something.

Compare two situations where the habit appeared. Look for patterns rather than treating a lapse as a personal failure.

If attention wanders

Wandering attention is something to notice. You can return to the exercise, shorten it, or leave it for another day. Avoid turning a brief experiment into another obligation. A guided session can help you discuss what made the practice comfortable or difficult.
